Sally Hansen Color Therapy Floral Collection

Let's Swatch This!
I was lucky enough to be a part of Sally Hansen Sally Squad for the release of their new Petal Soft Color Therapy Collection! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A total of 4 new polishes that are perfect for spring. From left to right we have: Freesia Fancy, Daisy Dreaming, Bluebell Bloom, and Balmy Blush. They also sent me some cute floral appliques and their Top Coat and Rose Cuticle Oil that smells amazing! 🌹

Up first is is my favorite polish of the whole Petal Soft Color Therapy Collection called "Balmy Blush" a soft pastel pink that looks very sophisticated on. I'm wearing two coats plus top coat here.
I was super surprised to find out that it dries to a velvety matte finish! But if you don't like the matte look, you can definitely add a glossy top coat like I did.

Here is how it looks with a matte finish!

The  next swatch I have is of this beautiful pale creme with pink and purple shimmer running through called "Freesia Fancy" The shimmer was somewhat difficult to capture on camera but once on the nail it is beautiful! Once again this polish does try to a semi matte finish. I'm wearing two coats plus a glossy top coat here.

Here's the nail art I did using both colors and their floral appliques. Absolutely love this look and the appliques are so easy to use! Just peel, stick and add a top coat and you got a complete mani! I did add a little stamping design over top an ombre using the same colors.

The next swatch is this perfect pastel baby blue called "Bluebell Bloom" Definitely another favorite of mine. Wearing two coats plus top coat. Like the others, this one also dries to a matte finish. I feel like this is perfect for a boy baby shower!

The final swatch is this alabaster white called "Daisy Dreaming" and I was so surprised how amazing the coverage was! For being in a pastel collection I though it was going to be somewhat sheer, definitely not the case! I'm wearing two coats plus top coat.

Here's another simple stamping design I did using both polishes.

And thoses are all the polishes! Which one was your favorite? Are you planning on picking any of them up? Let me know in the comments below!

Let's Swatch This: JLB Cosmetics Nail Lacquer

Let's Swatch This!

I'm starting a new series on my blog where I swatch polishes in my collection and first up are these beautiful polishes from JLB Cosmetics. I never heard of this brand before and found this as a gift set in my local discount store. There are nine polishes in this collection ranging from crΓ©mes to metallics.

Up first is Aster. A dark mauve color. I adore mauve colors and this is no exception. Usually when I find nail polishes at discount stores it's usually a 50/50 chance that they'll be good quality but almost all of these polishes were opaque in 2 coats which I find pleasantly surprising for a not commonly known brand.

Aster. Two coats plus top coat

Then we have Toasted Almond. A cool tone light brown. I usually don't gravitate towards colors like theses but it's a pretty color once on.

Toasted Almond. Two coats plus top coat

Next is Cheeky Peach. Just like the name, it's a beautiful mauve peach moreso than a traditional peach color. In the photo it looks more nude than the mauve color it is in person but nonetheless, it's such a perfect color that's opaque in two coats.

Cheeky Peach. Two coats plus top coat

Our next color is Pastel Pink and true to it's name it really is a pastel pink that's perfect for spring. I must apologize for the lighting in this photo. You can see the true color in the bottom picture. This one was one of the few that needed three coats to be opaque.

Pastel Pink. Three coats plus top coat

Vanilla Glaze is another one that needed three coats but once on is very beautiful! It has a slight green shimmer that was a little hard to capture on camera. You can see it more clearly in the photo at the top of the page.

Vanilla Glaze. Three coats plus top coat

And we finally move into the metallics! Up first is Rose Gold. I personally wouldn't call it a rose gold but it is a pink metallic with a silver shimmer. In the bottle it doesn't really look like much but check out the swatch! Definitely one of my favorites.

Rose Gold. Two coats plus top coat

Goldmine is a bronzie gold that again isn't one of my favorites because I feel like it doesn't go very well with my skintone. What do you think?

Goldmine. Two coats plus top coat

Up next is Amber. Now this is a gold I can get behind! It's a lot lighter and more.. warm tone I would say? Very beautiful color.

Amber. Two coats plus top coat

Lastly there is Space. A very muted metallic silver. From far away it can kind of look like a light grey. I don't think I mind it but probably not one I would constantly wear.

Space. Two coats plus top coat

Overall I'm very impressed with the formula of this brand. From my experience most of the random brands I find at discount stores really aren't worth the money even if it is at a low price. Like I mentioned before, almost all the polishes were very pigmented except for two but they definitely weren't the worst so I still give this set πŸ’…πŸ’…πŸ’…πŸ’… polished fingers out of 5!
I would love to know which one(s) were your favorite(s)? And if you want me to do more swatches of random nail polish brands, let me know in the comments below! A girl can definitely not ever have enough polish, right?

Pumpkin Roll With A Cream Chesse Filling

With fall already in full effect it's time to eat and drink all things pumpkin!

This year for Thanksgiving I wanted to try to make something pumpkin flavored apart from the same old pumpkin pie and thought, well why not make a roll? I usually make a matcha roll cake (recipe coming soon!) that everyone loves so I tried my hand at making a more fitting of fall flavored one this time.

I tried about to 3 different recipes and I think I finally found one I like the results is a moist sweetened cream cheese filled delicious pumpkin roll that will be unforgettable.

Cake Batter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 TBSP pumpkin pie spice
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 TBSP softened butter
  • 8 oz soften cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F
  2. Grease bottom of pan with butter and place wax paper.
  3. Place all cake ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix on low until combined.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  5. Remove cake from oven and place upside down on a clean kitchen towel sprinkled with powdered sugar and remove the wax paper.
  6. Roll the towel and the cake together and allow to cool.
  7. For the filling beat the butter, cream cheese, vanilla, and powdered sugar together.
  8. Once the cake has cooled unroll and with a spatula spread the filling. It's okay if the end of the cake wants to roll in.
  9. After filling roll it back and wrap with plastic.
  10. Store in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 hours to set and sprinkle powdered sugar before serving.

I'm also going to make Maple Sriracha Devils on Horseback that I made last year for thanksgiving that you can fine here. Hope you all have a wonderful time celebrating with friends and family and eat to your heart's content!

Birthday Cake For Dogs - Celebrating Yuki's Birthday

What better way to celebrate your pup's special day than with this mini dog birthday cake? Filled with pumpkin and topped with a honey yogurt icing it's sure to please furry friends and humans alike.

If you're like me then you're one of those pet moms who loves to celebrate your dogs birthday with a cake and present for them. Yes, I did wrap it too. (Don't judge!)

Last year I made Yuki a potato meat cake which I didn't really like how it turned out. This year I wanted to try something different so I took Pinterest to find a dog-friendly cake to make for her.

I always wanted a dog growing up and now that I have her I sometimes still find it unbelievable that she's actually here.

Yuki, my little fluffy one, mi pechocha, a little perrita thank you for keeping me company, making me laugh and smile everyday, and bringing me so much joy in life. You will forever be my baby and I look forward to spending many more years with you. I will continue to love you always and forever.

(She went to the groomers today and I think she scratched her eye on the car ride home πŸ™ hope it's nothing serious butwill definitely keep an eye out.)

Mini Pumpkin Doggy Cake
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2/3 cup organic plain yogurt (low sugar)
  • 2-3 TBS honey

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease 2 ramekin dishes with coconut oil. (Or place in cupcake pans) Combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl and set aside.
  2. Next, melt coconut oil and then set it aside, allowing it to cool to room temperature.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine milk, pumpkin, syrup, and vinegar and stir to combine.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients into one bowl, stirring with an electric mixer. Last, stir in the coconut oil.
  5. While the cakes are cooling mix yogurt and honey. Once cakes are cool spread the icing on top and stack together.
  6. Garnish with a strawberry and it's ready to enjoy! The best part is it's also people-friendly too! Definitely not sweet as a regular cake/cupcake but you are still able to eat it.

*recipe taken and slightly changed from
*this is not intended to replace a dog's regular meal and should only be given as a treat. Consult vet before giving new foods to your dogs.

January Favorites

The first month of the new year is officially behind us. Where has the time gone! I feel like January flew by so quickly, hence the super late post on my January favorites. So let's just jump right into it, shall we?

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in berry
This mask has vitamin C, shea butter, and other fruit extracts like raspberry, strawberry, and goji berry to soothe and soften lips. It smells amazing!! Just like strawberry, which is my favorite and comes with a cute little applicator. It claims to gently melt away dead akin cells leaving lips moist. Which I do think is true, although it can be a bit sticky it leaves my lips very soft. I find that by the time I wake up, I don't have any product, not sure if it's because I'm a crazy sleeper or I just don't use enough but it still really helps with my chapped lips.
I got mine here for $10.63

Banish Pumpkin Enzyme Masque
This is actually my second jar, that's how much I love it! It smells so delicious, to me it actually smells like sweet potato casserole? It's all natural and organic. Noticeable ingredients include pumpkin fruit, organic bilberry fruit extract, organic orange peel extract, vitamin c, rosemary leaf extract, ginger root powder, nutmeg, and cinnamon bark powder.
It helps to loosen sebum and dead skin cells to exfoliate and leaves your skin soft. It does tingle/sting at first which is totally normal and will go away after a few seconds. You can also use it as a spot treatment as it helps to speed up the healing process and increases collagen production. It is a little pricy but totally worth it. You can get it here for $35

Bliss Kiss Simply Pure Hydrating Oil in winter
This is one of my hoily grails!! I absolutely love love love this oil! I use it on my nails and cuticles to keeps them nice and, well.. hydrated. It helps with hangnails, calms eczema flare ups, luckily I don't suffer from that, it also stops nail peeling and breaks. Especially in the cold and winter time when your hands get super dry. I bought a sample pen and ended up LOVING this scent so much that I bought the bigger 4oz bottle. It seriously smells like Christmas. On their site the scent description is pretty accurate.
"When you apply, you'll feel like you walked into a room filled with the aroma of a freshly cut Christmas tree and citrus mulled cider simmering on the stove"
It is $6.42 for one pen, $21.42 for four pens and $48.21 for the 4oz bottle which is pretty expensive but I do think its the best value. They always have a semi annual sale twice a year which is when I usually stock up but they have this fun little quiz to find out what's your nail art style is and you can get a 10% off coupon at the end. They do ship worldwide if you're curious to try it out.

Nest Fragrances in Indigo
I got this roller ball from my boyfriend's sister, she actually gave me a full bag of goodies and this was one of the things that I absolutely fell in love with! I've been wearing this pretty much the whole month of January and I do feel like it lasts all day long, especially when I put some on the back of my neck near my hairline. I'm not good at describing scent so on their site it say that "Moroccan tea, Kashmir wood, black cardamom are enhanced with hints of wild fig and bergamot." And if you're like me and have no idea what scents descriptions means I guess to me it just smells a little sexy but in a subtle way? Very sophisticated and aromatic. I really want to get my hands on the bigger bottle before I run out but that probably won't happen anytime soon because you only need a tiny bit.
You can find it online at Sephora for $72

Next are these cute dainty little earrings that my boyfriend got me for my birthday I want to say these have been pretty much the only earrings I wore for the whole month of January. I usually don't wear too much gold jewelry so these are actually perfect for me I also only wear studs, I used to wear long dangling earrings but as I got older I started to gravitate towards smaller earrings. So thank you boyfriend for the gift! I absolutely love them.

And finally my last favorite(s) are nothing new but thought I'd share because it's something that I have almost every night and that would be green tea. I just prefer tea over coffee, I can't even remember the last time I have a cup of coffee. Something else I've been loving are these stroopwafels cookies. I usually get mine from tj maxx or ross and so far I've seen three flavors. Honey, caramel  (my favorite), and chocolate. Each box for about $3-$4.

And there you have it! My monthly favorites for January. Hoped you enjoyed reading and found something you are curious to try for yourself. Let's hope I can be on time for the month of February. What are some thing you've been loving? I'm always open to check out new products!

1 Year With Yuki

A year ago today I got one of the best surprises of my life. A small ball of fluff made its way into my home and heart.
I can't believe that itsbeen a year since I've had my dog Yuki, its been filled with ups and downs but I wouldn't change any of it.
In the year that I've had her she has taught me so much. How to be patient, what unconditional love is, it doesn't matter if I'm gone the whole day I know that she will greet me with a wagging tail and always ready to cuddle. Most importantly she has taught me how to care for another living being.
I'm sure there is a lot more the both of us can learn and I can't wait to grow older with her on my lap. I just hope as the years go by she become more clamer.
Here are some of my favorite photos of her and I'm sure there will be a lot more as the years go by.

The first photo I took of her

For the first few nights she slept on one of my stuffed animals.

The first time I tried taking her for a walk.. didn't go too well.

When she climbed onto my lap for the first time.

"What do I do with this?"

When she finally got a bed haha.

Always on my slippers..

Or in her crate..

She had her own pillow

But still loved to sleep on my slippers

One of my favorite photos of her

First time out as a family

And we took her to the vet

But she had her little bubby with her

Always with the weird sleeping positions..

Or sleeping on me

All wrapped up in my mom's arms

At the vet again

But happy to go home

Before her first haircut..

And after!

All she does is sleep..

Or hide under the bed

Cuddles πŸ’•

Her favorite toy

Surrounded by toys!

And the most heartbreaking day ever.. the day of her surgery

She was so miserable the first night with the cone, we didn't sleep very much.

So we got her a pillow instead.

I would take it off during the day and kept an eye on her

And she slowly got better!

Went to the vet and got the okay to take off the pillow! She slept with her friend again

And then on my leg..

When it's time to clean the bathroom she lays on the shower curtain

Before and after another haircut

More of my favorite pictures

And more bath times..

Looking for food in the fridge

Sleeping in a new bed

Her first birthday!

Trying to stay warm.

And finally, today.. my sweet little fluff ball who's so incredibly cute
I love you Yuki.
